John McLean Allan is an award-winning musician and has been a highly sought-after music educator at some of the most prestigious preschools in Los Angeles for over 20 years. He brings his talent and enthusiasm to teaching young children (0-5 yrs) the language of music. Children learn the building blocks of music by improvising rhythms and interacting with their parents to learn the conversation of music.
What inspires John the most is that kids can react to music before they even speak. John's goal is to educate kids and their parents since the parents are the kid’s first music educators. The parents take these musical ideas and reinforce them with the kids all week so that the following week, they're all better musicians for it.
WHAT PARENTS SAY
My son has been taking John’s group music class since he was 6 months old - he’s almost 3 now. John makes sure everyone has fun while learning about rhythm, melody, and instruments.
(I’m pretty sure my son learned to count in John’s class!) Unlike other music programs we’ve tried, John doesn’t underestimate children's capacity for music and rhythm, and always has interesting music from a variety of cultures and musical traditions.
John's class is a highlight of our week. He creates a really safe and fun environment for the children and the adults! It feels like a little community, and we love it. We recommend John to everyone!
I've been taking my 3-year-old to John's classes since he was 6 months. He adores John and
has a real sense of rhythm and melody and a real love of music because of him.
